Young Carers
Do you look after someone who has long term illness, disability, or mental illness?
If you answered yes, please get in contact with us by calling Gary on 086 022 9607 or by filling out this form (and get one of your parents or your next-of-kin to sign it) and send it back to us. We can then let you know when we are having an event or when we have news.
If you would like to chat to someone about your caring role, or would like advice or a listening ear then please call our CareLine on 1800 247 247, or email our agony aunts and uncles.
Be sure to visit your website for video diaries, cartoons, your dedicated facebook page and Youtube channel, forum space and much much more at www.youngcarers.ie
Every year we hold our annual Young Carer of the Year Award to recognise the work that Young Carers carry out daily in the home for family members. Young carers often go un-recognised along with their own social, health and educational needs. The awards strive to raise awareness for all of Irelands’ young carers and the improvement of services nationwide.
Our Young Carers Conference took place on 7th of May in the Croke Park Conference Centre. "Under the Radar - a focus on Young Carers and Support Mechanisms was an interesting and informative day. Contact Lee Anne Fox on 057-9322920 or email lfox@carersireland.com for further information.
Please contact your local resource centre for any queries or concerns you may have, our centre managers and staff are on hand to help you.
