Events
One of the most fundamental aspects of The Carers Association’s existence and ethos is in the area of promotion and awareness of the issues faced by family Carers on an ongoing basis.
As part of our promotional campaign, we hold the Carers of the Year Awards. Once a year we give family carers the acknowledgement they deserve and the opportunity for their family and friends to nominate them for the extraordinary levels of care they provide to a loved one.
Carers Week has become an annual week long event for family carers nationwide. All our 16 resource centres hold a variety of events from fun filled days out, information days, stress management classes, massage therapy, social evenings and beauty therapy. This year Carers Week takes place from 14th - 20th June 2010.
Our annual National Conference is held to highlight carer’s issues. The theme for our 2010 National Conference was "Under the Radar - a focus on Young Carers"which took place on 7th May 2010.
Each year The Carers Association publishes its Pre Budget Submission and presents the report to Government.
If you are interested in taking part in fundraising for The Carers Association then our annual International Walk may be just the event you are looking to get involved in.
Our Mini Marathons take place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 3rd in Kilkenny, Roscommon and Sligo and in September/October in Tralee, Dungarvan and Portlaoise. Register here for upcoming mini marathons or the Dublin Womens Mini Marathon for what promises to be a fun day out.
Help support Joanne Ui Chrualaoich in her endeavors to set a Guinness World Record. Joanne aims to complete a run from Malin Head to Mizen Head in under 6 days! She hopes to raise vital funds for The Carers Association and needs your help to do this. Read more on how you can help here.
