Reception at Aras an Uachtarain

Dublin Carer of the Year, Linda Yourell with her mother Kathleen along with 120 Family Carers travelled to Aras an Uachatarain on 12th June for a special reception hosted by President Higgins for Family Carers. The Carers Association celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year and President Higgins invited Family Carers to share a special afternoon at the Aras.
Local Carer of the Year Awards 2012
Congratulations to Dublin West Local Carer of the Year winner, Linda Yourell, receiving her award today. Linda is pictured here with Cathy White Area Manager Dublin West, and her parents Tommy and Kathleen whom she cares for. Linda went on to win the overall Dublin Carer of the Year 2012 award - much deserved!

Active Citizenship Week
During Active Citizenship Week (27th Sept - 1st Oct)in South Dublin the Clondalkin Resource Centre took part in a few events, One was an initiative called "Box Stories"
As part of active citizenship week 2010, ACT (Active Citizens Together) organised a conference on Democracy entitled Time for Action, Time for Change with Guest Speakers David Farrell (professor of politics in UCD) and Siobhan O Donoghue (National Community Platform). Over 120 citizens were in attendance and presented issues that affect them via a series of " Box Stories".
